Plumas Hearts N' Parks |
Through a grant from the California Health Collaborative, Hearts N' Parks is an innovative program that addresses the growing obesity and declining health trends among youth. The Hearts N' Parks program helps to graphically illustrate he adverse effects of inactive or sedentary life styles combined with poor nutrition. The program also offers meal and snack alternatives that are easy to prepare and are very nutritious. Physical activities include swimming, water aerobics, soccer, walking and hiking, nature study, and similar. Plumas Hearts N' Parks is offered during the summer months of June, July, August and September. For more information, contact the District at (530)283-3278. |
QUINCY SKATE PARK |
The Quincy Skate Park, which opened in 2003, is located
in East Quincy on Pioneer Road and Fairgrounds Road, adjacent to the
Pioneer Park and Community Pool. the facility was developed primarily
through a cooperative venture between the Quincy Rotary Club, Tony Hawk
Foundation, California Department of Parks & Recreation, the County of
Plumas, and the Central Plumas Recreation and Park District. The skate
park features a series of concrete bowls, drops, fun boxes, jumps, rails
and slopes. The three-season skate park is open (weather permitting) from

Quincy Chair-Robics Program |
The Char-robics Exercise program offers a low impact work out two days a week for mature adults. The class is designed to help promote flexibility, muscle tone, fitness, hand-eye coordination, balance and agility, and a very positive outlook on life. The program can accommodate individuals in wheel chairs, on oxygen assisted breathing, stroke patients, as well as generally able participants. Class occurs every Monday and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM , at the Mountain View Manor, 116 Circle Dr. near Jackson St., in Quincy.
